Shandong Ocean Ltd. was founded in 1974. It covers an area of 108000 sqm and has 2400 employees.

Shandong Ocean is one of the largest GRE pipe factories in China with an annual production of more than 200.000 tons GRE pipes. All products are approved by API and all IACS members and are used world wide in the oil and gas industry, chemical industry, LNG areas, municipal administration and on ships.

Shandong Ocean provides professional and experienced supervisors.

Marine Power ApS provides QC inspection of the final products at the factory before dispatch.

MR and LR1 tankers

At the time being we are building 7 MRs and 2 LR1s oil/chem tankers simultaneously. For the supervision we have a team of 20 supervisors at GSI Long Xue.

The first MR tanker has been on sea trial and here after named Torm Strength. The vessel met all specification and contract requirements and is now under completion and soon ready for delivery. The next 2 MR vessel are at the outfitting pier. 3 more MRs are in dry dock no. 1 and the seventh is at block stage. The 2 LR1 vessel are being assembled in dry dock no. 2.

MR vessels

The construction of the 7 MR vessels is ongoing. At the time being we are building on 2,5 vessels in the dry dock. Blocks for the other 4,5 vessels are being built in the steel cutting and assembly shops. Each vessel consists of 136 blocks. At this time of the year the weather is excellent for shipbuilding. Warm and dry and the typhoons have passed, hopefully!.

LR2 vessel Torm Hilde

NewsThe vessel left the yard on 16th October for her maiden voyage for Singapore, Sikka and Europe. Torm Hilde is the 4th vessel in the LR2 serial. She is fitted with a hybrid scrubber serving main and 3 auxilary engines as well as all 3 boilers.

Prior to departure from GSI yard the captain and his officers held a very nice indian style blessing ceremony for the vessel, company and all crew members on board.

LR2 tanker’s

The LR2 project at GSI ship yard is progressing according to the building schedule.

The two first vessels are now at the outfitting pier. Quay trials are in full progress. Soon the first vessel will be ready for sea trial.

The next two vessels will be launched in nearest future.
